Making Plans for a New Year
January is the perfect month for garden planning. In some areas, where snow and freezing are rare, winter crops may be planted and cultivated now. In other places, it is better to tend a few herbs indoors and make plans on paper – or my new favorite: Vegetable Garden Planner from Almanac.com
I know that peas like cold weather, and garlic should already be in by now… but even with a Horticulture degree I don’t know everything about gardening. Or nearly enough to be successful. Here is where the Old Farmer’s Almanac comes in handy for US gardens, homesteads, and farms.

Planning a Garden means Hope… for the New Year and the bountiful seasons ahead of flowers, fruit, and roots. I promise you will get sweaty and tan (if you forget the sunhat), and have marvelous days chasing butterflies, weeding, and planting seeds.
