The First Thanksgiving

While researching the Thanksgiving holiday for our events calendar, I discovered this interesting tidbit from the Farmers Almanac and thought you deserved to see it too. There is so much to be thankful for – and science proves that gratitude is good for the soul. Who would have thought the fully ratified US Constitution in 1789 was the inspiration for the first national Thanksgiving Day? Apparently, George Washington did! Read the full story here, including a number of recipes fit for a feast!

Note: Canada also celebrates Thanksgiving, a little earlier in the year. I don’t think they are celebrating the US Constitution though… 😉
